BS Agribusiness Economics

WHY PURSUE AGRIBUSINESS ECONOMICS?

Mindanao’s economy is driven mainly by agriculture. Hence, many institutions in the island offer degrees in agriculture focusing on production and farm management. But a degree in agribusiness provides a broader context—from farms to markets, from small scale to large scale, from domestic to global.

The Agribusiness Economics (ABE) program at the School of Management is a unique degree that offers exciting opportunities for you to learn about the breadth of the agribusiness supply chains in Mindanao. It integrates both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in economics, business, and management to address real-world issues and challenges in doing agribusiness within a globalized context.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. Develop socially responsible and culturally sensitive individuals akin to the needs of the agribusiness sector of Mindanao and the Southeast Asian Region;

  3. Demonstrate the ability to use appropriate decision-making tools and methodologies in addressing agribusiness issues; and
  4. Continuously build the body of knowledge through interdisciplinary approaches to address relevant issues in the agribusiness sector.
