Master in Management

WHY TAKE THE MASTER IN MANAGEMENT PROGRAM?

The Master in Management program is designed to hone professionals in managerial and supervisory positions by providing them with key management science tools, strategic management concepts, and organization-relevant approaches.

The program initially provides our students with several analytical and quantitative courses taught through case studies, team projects, and lectures before giving them the opportunity to apply this knowledge to real-world cases in Mindanao. To graduate, students are required to draw on the sum of their theoretical knowledge and practical experience to develop a strategic plan for their chosen organization.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES​

The Master in Management program aims to produce graduates who could:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of management concepts and theories;
  2. Analyze organizational and industry issues and challenges in the country and in the Southeast Asian Region;
  3. Apply interdisciplinary concepts and approaches to understanding and solving real-world problems in management;
  4. Communicate ideas effectively in written and oral communication;
  5. Demonstrate critical thinking skills and creativity to analyze, understand, and solve problems in management and other related fields;
  6. Respond to the global needs while maintaining Filipino values and identity in their services;
  7. Demonstrate ability to work well with culturally diverse organizations and institutions;
  8. Use appropriate decision-making tools and methodologies in solving complex problems and creating innovative solutions; and,
  9. Demonstrate leadership skills in achieving the organizational goals with due consideration to the social, cultural, and environmental concerns.

THIS TWO-YEAR NON-THESIS-TRACK MASTER'S PROGRAM COVERS THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Complex adaptive system in management
  • Strategic approach in managing organizations
  • Sustainability in organizational management

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in any field of study
  • A minimum of 2.5 or equivalent average grade
  • At least two years of managerial or supervisory experience
  • A favorable recommendation from a superior and at least one other person who is well acquainted with, but not related to, the applicant
  • Passing the Graduate Admission Test
  • Favorable assessment of interview results
  • Attendance to the Bridging Program

HOW TO APPLY

The School of Management accepts applications for its Master in Management (MM) program from November to June of the following year.  Submit the following documents to the School of Management-Office of the College Secretary  (SOM-OCS):

 

        1. Duly accomplished application form

        2. Accomplished Recommendation forms from 1)  a superior and 2) at least one other person who is well acquainted with, but not related to, the applicant.

        3. Copy of Official Transcript of Records

For on-site transaction, please submit the documents to the SOM-OCS, and  pay the Application Fee of PhP 200 at the Cash Office and the Graduate Admissions Test (GAT) fee of PhP 250 at our office.


For online transaction, please submit the documents to somcs.upmindanao@up.edu.ph. The instructions for the payment of fees will be provided as soon as we receive and review the application documents. Applications for the MM program are only processed for first semester admission. There are no admissions during the second semester and midyear.
 
The deadline for submission of application for AY 2025-2026 admission is on 30 June 2025.
 

TUITION AND OTHER FEES

Semestral fees amount to approximately PhP 11,500, which covers tuition and other school fees.
